Preis der Nationalgalerie

In the fall of 2021, the Preis der Nationalgalerie has been awarded for the eleventh time. Since 2000, this prize, donated by the Freunde der Nationalgalerie, has promoted young, important positions in contemporary art that reflect the internationality and vitality of the art scene in Germany and have already achieved significance through new artistic approaches.

Since 2013, the honor is no longer associated with a cash prize, but the winner receives a curated solo exhibition, accompanied by a publication, in one of the houses of the National Gallery. This solo exhibition takes place in the year following the awarding of the prize.

Since 2007, the Nationalgalerie Prize has been sponsored by BMW.
